A marked feature of the initial phase of Christ removing Satan’s control over the earth is that wars and trouble will be globally unprecedented— “such as never was.” (Daniel 12:1) Christ has allowed a protracted time of world trouble to convince mankind that, because of selfishness and pride, they cannot effectively rule. Today, even the most democratic governments fall far short of the justice and righteousness required to be successful and lasting. Before Christ’s rule will be accepted by mankind, they need to reach the point of exasperation with their own futile attempts at achieving benevolent governments and peace on earth. The final battle between good and evil will be the final lesson which will illustrate that a government without God’s principles is in vain.
